Micromax Canvas Fantabulet With 6.98-Inch Display Launched at Rs. 7,499


Micromax has launched the Canvas Fantabulet smartphone priced at Rs. 7,499. 
The new Canvas-range handset will be available via Flipkart and will come in 
a Chrome Gold colour variant.
The biggest highlight of the Micromax Canvas Fantabulet is its massive 
6.98-inch screen at this price point. With the large screen size, the new 
Canvas Fantabulet will compete against the high-priced Lenovo Phab 
Plus, which sports 
a 6.8-inch display. It's worth noting that the Lenovo Phab Plus was launched
 in india back in October at Rs. 20,990.

The Canvas Fantabulet comes bundled with apps like Eros Now, Kindle, 
Saavn, and Gaana among others. Another highlight of the new smartphone 
is its dual box speakers which are powered by DTS technology. Micromax is
 offering a free 90-day subscription to Saavn pro.
The Canvas Fantabulet features a 6.98-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) 
IPS display. It is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz
 coupled with 1GB of RAM. The handset features 16GB inbuilt
 storage and also supports expandable storage support via microSD card
 (up to 32GB).
Running Android 5.0 Lollipop, the Micromax Canvas Fantabulet sports an
 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash and also comes with a
 2-megapixel fixed-focus front camera. The dual-SIM based Canvas 
Fantabulet supports 3G on one SIM and the other supports 2G.
Connectivity options on the new phablet from Micromax include 3G, 
GPS/ A-GPS,Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Micro-USB. Unfortunately, the smartphones
 doesn't support 4G LTE connectivity. Under the hood, the Micromax
 Canvas Fantabulet packs a 3000mAh battery.
Commenting on the launch, Vikas Jain, Co-Founder, Micromax Informatics,
 said,"We ignited the phablet category with the launch of Canvas range of 
devices which proved to be extremely popular among the consumers. With
 the launch of Canvas Fantabulet we are yet again pioneering a new category
 that will change the way people use smartphones making it their first
 choice for consumption and productivity needs. The launch comes at the most 
appropriate time when mobile internet is on the rise and there has been 
persistent increase in demand for larger screens and video consumption."

Lenovo Lemon 3 With 5-Inch Display, Snapdragon 616 SoC Launched


Lenovo, after launching its A7000 Turbo smartphone in India earlier this 
week, has now launched a new smartphone dubbed Lemon 3. Launched in 
China, the handset carries a price tag of RMB 699 (approximately Rs. 7,000), 
the same as that of Xiaomi Redmi 3, which launched this week.
Available in Silver and Gold colour variants, the smartphone can be reserved
 now from the company's shopping website. The Lenovo Lemon 3's
 availability details and price outside China are not yet known.
The Lenovo Lemon 3 as per the listing is a dual-SIM dual-standby dual-4G
 supporting smartphone running on Android 5.1 Lollipop. It sports a 5-inch 
full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) resolution IPS display with pixel density of 441ppi. 
Packing an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 clocked at 1.5GHz, the
 smartphone bears 2GB RAM and Adreno 405 GPU.

As for connectivity, the Lemon 3 features support for 4G LTE (supports
India bands) networks, along with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB 2.0, and GPS options.
The smartphone houses 16GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via 
a microSD card (unspecified limit). Also featured is a 13-megapixel rear
 camera with LED flash along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. 
Measuring 142x71x7.99 mm, the Lenovo Lemon 3 weighs 142 grams. It is 
backed by a 2750mAh battery, which is rated to deliver up to 15 days of 
standby time on 4G, 32 hours of talk time on 2G, 12 hours of audio playback 
and 6.2 hours of video playback. The audio output of the handset is powered 
by Maxx Audio.
Most of the specifications of the Lenovo Lemon 3 are similar to that of
 Xiaomi Redmi 3. The Redmi 3 however comes with a larger 4100mAh battery, 
an HD resolution display. At this price point, the Lenovo handset will also be 
taking on other handsets such as Meizu m2 note and Lenovo Vibe K4 Note.

Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) With Super-Amoled Display Reportedly Launched


The Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) smartphone that has been in rumours and leaks
 for the past few weeks, appears to have quietly been launched by the South
 Korean tech giant in Dubai.
The smartphone was on for sale for AED 499 (roughly Rs. 9,000) at a Jumbo
 Electronics showroom as seen in the image shared by a user (via GSMArena).
 The handset is not yet listed on the retailer's website or on the company website.
As seen in the image, the Gold colour variant of Samsung Galaxy J1
 2016 runsAndroid 5.1.1 Lollipop and features a 4.5-inch WVGA (800x480 pixels) 
resolution Super Amoled display. It packs a quad-core 1.3GHz processor 
(unspecified) under-the-hood, clubbed with 1GB RAM. Other features mentioned
 for the handset are 8GB inbuilt storage, a 5-megapixel rear camera, a
 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 2050mAh battery.
For reference, the Android 4.4.4 KitKat-based Samsung Galaxy J1 is powered
 by a dual-core 1.2GHz processor coupled with 512MB of RAM. On the
 camera front, the Galaxy J1 (2016) is said to feature a 5-megapixel rear
 camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front facing camera - the same
 as the Galaxy J1. Although the company has not yet officially launched
the smartphone, the handset's appearance in physical retail stores is clearly an 
indication that it will launch soon.
Samsung is also preparing to launch its flagship Galaxy S7 smartphone soon,
 based on the frequent number of leaks and rumours. The
upcoming smartphonerecently appeared in benchmark tests, revealing
some specifications
 such as 5.1-inch QHD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, Adreno 530 GPU, 
3GB RAM, and 64GB inbuilt storage.
